Kate Zambreno is the author most recently of To Write As if Already Dead, a study of Hervé Guibert, and The Light Room, a meditation on art and care. At Semiotext(e) she published Heroines, Book of Mutter, and Appendix Project. She writes collaborative criticism with the writer and scholar Sofia Samatar, most recently Tone, and an in-progress book on atmosphere. She teaches graduate nonfiction at Columbia University and writing at Sarah Lawrence College. She is a 2021 Guggenheim Nonfiction Fellow. She is currently at work on Inspection, an inquiry into landlord-tenant relations and toxicity.
